TATER TOT Casserole

This kid-friendly Tater Tot Lasagna Casserole uses these little fingers to replace traditional pasta toppings – a delicious spin on a family favorite!

Get ready for comfort food!  This Tater Tot Lasagna Casserole has all the lasagna flavors we love plus the addition of a delicious Tater Tot. It is easy to assemble and is a family favorite in our home.

The bottom layer is a meaty portion of lasagna with minced meat, onions, mushrooms, spices, and your favorite spaghetti sauce. Then, on top of that, you’ll add a layer of cream cheese. I use the full-fat variety because it’s a comfort food, after all.

Then you’ll get frozen Tater Tots from your freezer and put them on top of the cottage cheese. Don’t worry; They will cook completely in the oven.

The topping is gooey mozzarella and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning. This casserole cooks in just 45 minutes. Talk about an easy meal!

Serving it hot and fresh out of oven. I serve it in bowls because it’s a bit messy! It may not be the prettiest casserole you’ve seen, but it sure tastes great. Hope you like it.

Ingredients

1 (16-oz.) package frozen tater tots

1 lb lean ground beef, (I use 88% lean)

1/2 medium yellow onion, diced

1 tsp garlic powder

1 (10.75-oz.) can cream of mushroom soup

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 c. (8-oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

1 (15-oz.) can kernel corn, drained

1 (15-oz.) can green beans, drained

1 tsp kosher salt

Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat to 350 degrees F. Using cooking spray, lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.

Step 2: Add the ground beef to a large, hot 10-inch skillet along with the onion, garlic powder, and salt. Cook over medium-high heat until beef is cooked through, breaking up meat as it cooks with a spatula.

Step 3: Once the ground beef is cooked through, add the mushroom soup, green beans, corn, and 1/2 cup of the cheese to the skillet. Mix well.

Step 4: In the prepared baking dish, spread the honeycomb mixture, then arrange the Tettier in a single layer on top. Sprinkle with the rest of the cheese.

Step 5: Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes or until the skillet is hot and golden brown.
