My hubby and his friends love this white dip I make! They say it’s better than the restaurant version!

Ingredients

– 1 lb of white American cheese, cubed
– 1 cup of half-and-half or whole milk
– 4 oz of green chiles, diced
– 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder
– 1/4 teaspoon of ground cumin
– 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
– 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder
– Salt to taste
– Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional for garnish)

Preparation

1. Add the cubed white American cheese to the slow cooker.
2. Pour in the half-and-half or milk, which will help to create a smooth texture.
3. Mix in the diced green chiles; these will give the queso a mild heat and a pop of flavor.
4. Season the mixture with chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder for depth and complexity.
5. Stir everything together gently until well combined.
6. Set your slow cooker to low heat and cook for 2 hours, stirring occasionally to ensure that the cheese melts evenly and the flavors meld together.
7. Once the cheese is completely melted and the queso is hot, taste and add salt if necessary.
8. If preferred, sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro over the queso before serving as a fragrant garnish.

Serve your slow cooker white queso hot, straight from the slow cooker to keep it warm and creamy. Enjoy this queso as a dip with tortilla chips or veggies, or use it as the perfect topping for your favorite Tex-Mex dishes.
