Agua de Frutas La Michoacana is a refreshing


Ingredients:

  • 5 cups of water
  • 1 cup of sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups of mixed fresh fruits, diced small (choose from watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, mango, strawberries, or papaya)
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Optional: 1/2 cup of milk or cream (for a creamier version)
  • Ice, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fruits:
    • Wash and peel the fruits if necessary.
    • Dice the fruits into small, bite-sized pieces.
  2. Mix the Water and Sugar:
    • In a large pitcher, combine the water and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely. If you want a creamier version, substitute part of the water with milk or cream.
  3. Add the Fruits:
    • Add the diced fruits to the pitcher.
    • Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture and stir well.
  4. Chill:
    • Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld together.
  5. Serve:
    • Fill glasses with ice and pour the chilled agua de frutas over the ice.
    • Optionally, garnish with a slice of lime or a sprig of mint.

Tips:

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
  • Add a few sprigs of fresh mint or basil for an aromatic twist.
  • For a bubbly version, replace part of the water with sparkling water right before serving.
