Bubble Up Pizza Bake

Introduction

Bubble Up Pizza Bake is a quick, family-friendly casserole that delivers all the flavors of pizza in an easy-to-make bake.
It gets its name from the way the biscuit dough “bubbles up” as it bakes, making each bite delightfully fluffy and cheesy.
Perfect for busy weeknights, game nights, or potlucks!

Ingredients

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (like Pillsbury Grands)

1 cup pizza sauce or marinara

1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup sliced pepperoni (or any other pizza toppings)

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Cut each biscuit into quarters and place in a large mixing bowl.

Add pizza sauce and toss the biscuit pieces until evenly coated.

Mix in half the mozzarella cheese and half of your toppings (e.g., pepperoni).

Pour the biscuit mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

Sprinkle the remaining cheese and toppings on top.

Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder (if using), and Parmesan cheese.

Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the biscuits are puffed and golden and cheese is melted and bubbly.

Cool slightly before serving.

Description

This bake is like a deconstructed pizza and pull-apart bread rolled into one.
The biscuits rise as they cook, creating a soft, doughy texture with gooey cheese and classic pizza flavors in every bite. It’s highly customizable and a total crowd-pleaser.

Tips

Don’t overcrowd the dish—give the biscuits room to puff up.

For crispier edges, use a metal pan instead of glass.

Cover with foil halfway through baking if the top browns too quickly.

Let it cool for 5–10 minutes so it sets and is easier to slice.

Variations

Meat Lover’s: Add cooked sausage, ham, and bacon bits.

Veggie Supreme: Use mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, and olives.

BBQ Chicken: Substitute pizza sauce with BBQ sauce and top with cooked chicken and red onion.

Spicy: Add jalapeños or red pepper flakes for heat.

Correction

If your Bubble Up Pizza is undercooked in the center, cover with foil and return to the oven for an additional 5–10 minutes. Check that the biscuit dough is fully cooked before removing from the oven.

Enjoy

Serve this dish hot, straight from the oven, with a side of ranch or marinara for dipping.
Add a simple salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. Great for leftovers, too—if there are any!
