Ingredients:
- 1 pound (about 450g) pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Dough:
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 12×16 inches.
- Add Cheese:
- Spread the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the surface of the dough.
- Fold and Cut:
- Fold the dough in half lengthwise, covering the cheese. Press the edges to seal.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the folded dough into strips, creating individual twists.
- Twist the Strips:
- Twist each strip of dough, stretching it slightly as you go, and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Prepare Garlic Butter:
- While the bread is baking, mix the melted butter with minced garlic and chopped fresh parsley (if using).
- Brush and Serve:
- Once the Cheese Twisted Bread is out of the oven, brush the twisted strips with the garlic butter mixture.
- Serve Warm:
- Serve the Cheese Twisted Bread warm, either on its own or with marinara sauce for dipping.
