Irresistible Chicken Patties with Mozzarella

Introduction:

These Chicken Patties with Mozzarella are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and oozing with cheesy goodness.
Perfect for dinner, parties, or as a quick snack, they combine the savory flavor of seasoned ground chicken with the creamy melt of mozzarella.
Easy to prep and even easier to love!

Ingredients:

For the Patties:

500g (1 lb) ground chicken

1 cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)

1 egg

1/2 small onion, finely chopped or grated

2 garlic cloves, minced

1/4 cup fresh parsley or coriander, finely chopped

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional for extra flavor)

For the Filling:

100g (3.5 oz) mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes or shredded

For Frying:

1–2 tbsp oil for shallow frying (or bake/air-fry for a healthier version)

Instructions:
Prepare the Mix:

In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, parsley, paprika, pepper, salt, and Parmesan (if using). Mix until well combined.

Shape the Patties:

Take a small portion of the mixture, flatten it in your hand, and place a cube or pinch of mozzarella in the center. Fold the meat around the cheese and form a patty, ensuring the cheese is fully sealed inside.

Roll the patties lightly in breadcrumbs for a crispier crust.

Cook the Patties:

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry patties for 3–4 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Alternatively, bake at 200°C (400°F) for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway, or air fry at the same temperature for 15–18 minutes.

Description:
Golden, crispy, and cheesy—these chicken patties are a total crowd-pleaser. The melted mozzarella in the center adds a gooey surprise with every bite, while the seasoned chicken mixture is packed with flavor. Serve with a dip or as a sandwich filling for a satisfying meal.

Tips:
Keep your hands wet when shaping patties to avoid sticking.

Use chilled mozzarella for easier stuffing and less melting during cooking.

Add chili flakes to the mix if you like a bit of spice.

Let patties rest for 5 minutes before serving so the cheese doesn’t spill out too quickly.

Variations:
Spicy Version: Add chopped jalapeños or chili flakes.

Herb Upgrade: Use fresh basil or thyme for a different aroma.

Stuffed Surprise: Try adding a slice of tomato or olive with the mozzarella.

Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free breadcrumbs.

Correction (Common Mistakes to Avoid):
Over-mixing: Can make the patties tough. Mix just until combined.

Not sealing properly: If mozzarella leaks during cooking, make sure the patty is well sealed.

Too much moisture: If the mixture is too wet, add more breadcrumbs a little at a time.

Enjoy:
Serve your chicken patties hot with your favorite dip—garlic mayo, ketchup, or a spicy aioli. Pair them with salad, buns, or rice for a full meal. Enjoy the crispy, cheesy bite—you’ll want more than one!
